Jake is an executive-level technologist and solutions architect with extensive management experience focused on Internet-based application development, deployment, operations and support.
As a technology solutions consultant Jake advises a broad range of clients on software/systems architecture and strategic technology planning, as well as functioning in a variety of technology leadership roles.
Most recently Jake was the technical founder and acting CTO for Mirixa Corporation, the leading provider of hosted, web-based clinical solutions for pharmacist-based patient care services and a pioneer in the Medication Therapy Management system market. Jake was responsible for establishing a high-octane development process and start-up team to produce a Version-1 product under intense time and budget pressures. Subsequent to a successful, on-time and under-budget release, Jake drove the process for transitioning Mirixa's technology organization to a full-time, permanent staff and executive team.
Prior to establishing his consulting practice Jake filled a variety of engineering and technology management roles.
As Director of Software Development at the technical consulting firm NYBOR Corporation he was the primary client interface, project manager and team lead for major national clients including National Data Corporation, IDX Systems, ConneXsys, Vogt Management Consulting, Proximity Corp and others. In maturing NYBOR's technical consulting practices and growing the technology team's delivery capacity Jake contributed to the eventual acquisition of NYBOR by Xtria Corporation, a major vendor of technical consulting services.
Jake was employee number seven at the privately funded start-up, MediVation, a first-of-its-kind provider of web-based services for Doctor-Patient communications. While there, Jake spearheaded the development of a sophisticated data integration platform and played a key role in expanding the organization's ability to interchange data with a wide range of third-party healthcare systems. Following the successful acquisition of MediVation by McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 20 healthcare company, Jake brought his extensive experience with Doctor-Patient communications to a demanding role as a Senior Engineer and Architect for RelayHelath corporation. His contributions as lead architect on a number of key initiatives helped to propel the organization to its current position as the leading vendor in this growing market.
Jake began his career in technology during the early years of the Internet boom as the webmaster for New England Medical Center, the teaching hospital for Tufts Medical School in Boston, MA. At NEMC Jake quickly distinguished himself as a key force in leveraging the Web as a medium for application delivery in addition to simple content publishing. Jake was the driving force behind several key initiatives to bring enterprise applications to the hospital environment via a thin-client interface and was the organization's main advocate for an ambitious intranet platform.
